Meet Your Doctors
J Shahangian DDS, MS
Dr. J. grew up in San Diego and went to Rancho Bernardo High School, where he played soccer for the Broncos. He earned an honors degree in Molecular Cell Biology at UC Berkeley, then he attended UCLA for dental school. There, he served as Student Body President and was recognized by the Dean's Leadership Institute. Subsequent to earning his D.D.S. from UCLA, Dr. J completed 3 years of specialty training at the University of North Carolina. At UNC, Dr. J served as Chief Resident and won national recognition for his research on hereditary dental disorders.
Dr. J is on faculty with the UCLA Department of Pediatric Dentistry and is on staff with San Diego's Rady Children's Hospital. He has established his private practice in his hometown to serve San Diego families. He is also a proud father of two girls and loves spending time with his family.
Holly Jafarzade, DDS, MS
Dr Holly is originally from Las Vegas. She completed her Bachelors at UCLA before attending the prestigious dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco. Dr Holly relocated to the east coast to complete her orthodontic specialty training at the University of Rochester where she continued to practice for another 5 years. She then returned to SoCal to join her extended family. Her gentle demeanor, extensive experience with children and adults, and advanced continuing education make her the perfect orthodontist at our office.
When not working on perfecting her patients' smiles, Dr Holly loves spending time with her family (husband Soha and two kids), exploring the outdoors and trying new restaurants around San Diego!
